The priority of Elektrorpivreda Republike Srpske (Elektroprivreda RS) is to build facilities that use renewable energy sources and this is envisaged in the strategy of development of the energy sector, but also the ten-year development plan of this company, the company’s general manager, Luka Petrovic, said on Saturday, January 23.

Petrovic said that the three-year business plan envisaged investments worth BAM 1.5 billion and added that Elektroprivreda RS was carrying out five capital projects at that moment – HPP Dabar, HP System Gornja Drina, the hydro power plants on the Bistrica, Hrgud Wind Farm and Trebinje Solar Power Plant.

According to him, the focus is on the continuation of the construction and completion of the HPP Dabar, of installed power of 160 MW. He adds that the main works are in progress, that the main exit section of the tunnel has been dug through and that an entrance structure remains to be done after the lining of the tunnel is applied.

– The job should then continue with the construction of a dam in Poscenje, the building of a pipe from the concrete tunnel to the entrance to the machine building, as well as facilities with the equipment and the distribution system and the downstream canal in Dabarsko Polje of 5.5 kilometers – Petrovic emphasized at the media conference.

He said that, for Elektroprivreda RS, it was of extreme importance to also have the hydro power system Gornja Drina built. The system will be 51% owned by Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS), whereas Elektroprivreda RS will own 49%.

– We have the building permit for the preparatory works, the company has its organs and we expect the signing of the agreement on the preparatory works to take place next month – Petrovic said.
