Orao from Bijeljina Contracts Job of Repair of Air Engines for SAF – Agreement Signed Worth EUR 3.7 Million

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Nebojsa Stefanovic attended the signing of the agreement on the repair of VIPER engines for Orao and Super Galeb G-4 airplanes between the Logistics Department (J-4) of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces (SAF), the PE Jugoimport-SDPR and Remontni Zavod Orao from Bijeljina.

Stefanovic emphasized on that occasion that the repair would enable an additional number of said planes to be used in the Serbian Air Force, as envisaged in the continuation of the project of the modernization of the aviation.

The agreement is worth EUR 3.7 million and is one of the most important individual agreements that the Ministry of Defense and the SAF have with an arms company from Republika Srpska, the Ministry of Defense of Serbia announced.

Stefanovic pointed out that a visit to other companies in Republika Srpska was discussed with the local partners on that occasion too.

Minister of Economy and Entrepreneurship of Republika Srpska Vjekoslav Petricevic emphasized that the agreement signed with Orao from Bijeljina was only one in the range of agreements signed by the Ministry of Defense of Serbia with Orao and other arms industry companies from Republika Srpska.


Along with ministers Stefanovic and Petricevic, the signing of the agreement was also attended by Assistant Minister of Defense for Material Resources Nenad Miloradovic, and the agreement was signed by the head of the Logistics Department (J-4) of the General Staff of the SAF, brigade general Srdjan Petkovic, on behalf of the Ministry of Defense and the SAF, assistant director for economic-financial affairs Danijel Pantic on behalf of the PE Jugoimport-SDPR and director Mladen Stojanovic on behalf of Orao, says the press release by the Ministry of Defense.
