Russian retail chains are increasing their presence in the European markets. In the upcoming years, they are expected to be present in a large number of European countries, the retailserbia.com portal writes.

Store chains Mere and Svetofor are the first to step outside the borders of Russia, and they are to be followed by the VkusVill market chain. The first VkusVill retail store opened last year in the Netherlands, whereas, in the upcoming years, the company is expected to expand to several European countries, with France and Belgium mentioned as the next locations. Outside Europe, the company plans to open a market in China.

VkusVill was founded in 2009. It currently has over 1,200 food stores. The chain is owned by the founders (88%) and investment funds (12%).

Unlike Mere and Svetofor, there is still no official information as to whether VkusVill is to establish branches in Serbia and the countries of the region.
