Subotica to Install Solar Panels on Nine Facilities – Investment Worth EUR 727,000

Within the Interreg Program of Cooperation Between Serbia and Croatia, in which its partner is Satnica Djakovacka, Subotica will invest EUR 727,000 in installing solar panels on nine public-purpose facilities and education institutions with the aim of increasing their energy efficiency and making savings in the consumption of energy sources.

The building of the New Municipality, the Open University, the Home for Children with Disabilities “Kolevka”, the facilities of PU “Nasa radost”, the Sports and Recreation Center “Prozivka”… Solar panels are to be installed on nine public-purpose facilities in Subotica in order to make them more energy efficient.

– I want to point out that this is the first project of this kind and this scope in Serbia, a pilot project, within which solar panels are installed on such a great number of public-purpose facilities – says Bozidarka Golubovic, the project manager.

Energy interventions will also be done on the facilities of the “Sonja Marinkovic” Elementary School, the Polytechnics School and the Technological Secondary School “Ivan Saric”, as well as the Special Primary and Secondary Sschool "Zarko Zrenjanin", where the doors and the windows have already been replaced, and the carpentry is soon to be replaced on the building of the “Matko Vukovic” Elementary School as well.

– The total budget of this project is EUR 1,420,000, of which EUR 727,000 is meant for Subotica. The deadline for the realization of this project is December 14, 2021, but we expect, thanks to the great efforts being made, most of the works to be done by November 2021 – says Srdjan Samardzic, the member of the City Council of Subotica in charge of the economy.
