Slovenia has adopted a decision by which the entry to the country is treated differently depending on the type of vaccine that the passenger has been given.

Dino Kozlevac, the head of the Civil Protection Staff of the Istria County, explains that those who have received Moderna’s vaccine can enter Slovenia 14 days after the vaccination.

Those who have received AstraZeneca’s vaccine may enter Slovenia 21 days following the first vaccination, and the passengers who have been administered Pfizer’s vaccine can enter seven days after the re-vaccination, the Glas Istre daily writes.

– Those who have recovered from Covid-19 may enter Croatia and Slovenia with a medical certification that is valid for six months. So, those who have recovered and those who are vaccinated do not have to produce a negative test, nor do the Croatian citizens which visit Slovenia officially, for safety, civil protection and health tasks – said Kozlevac, as reported by the Index.hr portal.

On Friday, Slovenia tightened the measures at the borders: daily travelers, that is, students over 13 and those who work at Slovenian companies, must produce a negative antigen test no older than seven days. After the expiration of that date, the antigen test needs to be repeated, which, Kozlevac says, can be done in Umag, Porec and Buzet.

The persons who transport students and those who use health services in Slovenia also have to have an antigen test and they pay for the tests themselves. All others who travel to Slovenia for justified reasons must produce a PCR test.

People in transit, on the other hand, don’t need to have a test or any other certification when entering Slovenia.

– Those passengers need to get informed what the state, the end destination they are traveling to, requires. You get asked where you are going at the border. Trieste? Ok, they let you pass, but if you are caught making a stop in Slovenia, you are penalized. So, you must leave Slovenia by the shortest path possible – Kozlevac explains.

The decision remains valid until at least April 2.
