49th FEST Rescheduled for May 7-16

The upcoming 49th edition of the Belgrade International Film Festival (FEST) will be held on May 7-16, 2021, the organizer announced.

The FEST Board explains the decision to reschedule the festival with the current epidemiological circumstances and the health of the audience, the guests and the festival team, which comes first.

Let us remind that FEST is being prepared and is to be held under the slogan “Return to the Future”, with the intention to contribute to bringing back the audience to the cinemas, which have been and should remain the linchpin of cinematography, in greater numbers, as the largest and most famous film event in the country and the region.

This year’s program will present over 70 premieres from the global and the local productions, through several program units that the audience will be able to follow at the halls of Sava Centar, Kombank Dvorana, the Belgrade Youth Center and Cineplexx Galerija Belgrade.

As the organizer of the festival, CEBEF notes that programs will be held in compliance with all the measures adopted by the Crisis Response Team for the suppression of COVID-19 and invites the audience of FEST to apply for vaccination, as the safest way of protection from the virus, in the meantime.

Information about the beginning and the manner of the sale of the tickets for 49th FEST, as well as the first media conference at which the program will be presented, are to be announced at a later date.
