International real estate trade fair opened in Belgrade - REBEC in Continental hotel between June 21 and 23
The third International investment and real estate trade fair REBEC 2010 was opened today (June 21, 2010) in Belgrade. Participants in this event are domestic and foreign investment and real estate experts.
The main theme of this year's REBEC will be the hotel industry development in Serbia. As it was announced at the press conference, Belgrade is among the most attractive tourist destinations in Europe, which is the reason why it is necessary to build as many hotels with four or five stars and garni hotels as possible.
Foreign companies Arup, Savills, and Horwat Consulting HTL will present their experiences at the exhibition, while the representatives of architectural bureau ReardonSmith from London will be speaking about the project in Tivat - Porto Montenegro (construction of a marina), of which first phase will be put in operation on July 1, 2010.
REBEC Director Aleksandar Opsenica said that the situation in the real estate market was "complicated", that is, that the risks were high because banks were granting loans restrictively.
He estimated that the prices of apartments would not be additionally decreased and that the market was slowly recovering since about 500 apartments had been sold in Belgrade prior to May 2010, the same as during the entire last year.
