The talks, which started on Monday, are taking place within the consultations under Article IV of the Statute of the International Monetary Fund and will last until April 23. During the mission, current fiscal, monetary and overall macroeconomic developments in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic will be discussed. The analysis also includes the adequacy of economic policy, external stability and sustainability of the country's external debt.
- At the same time, this occasion marks the beginning of talks on the basics of a new economic program that the IMF would support with a non-financial, advisory arrangement. Given the strong progress that Serbia has made in the past eight years, the new arrangement will be focused on preserving what has been achieved and supporting the continuation of structural reforms on the path to stronger and sustainable economic growth - the NBS website states.
