Healthcare Europe Gets Aid in the Form of Land for EUR 19 Million Investment in Ruma

The Commission for Control of State Aid (KKDP) has approved for the Municipality of Ruma to help the investment of the company Healthcare Europe of EUR 19 million, which will lead to the employment of 300 workers, with land worth EUR 554,000.

KKDP’s decision says that the aid is realized through the alienation of the building land without a compensation in the business zone Rumska Petlja.

The decision allows the transfer of land consisting of first-class farming land, of 46,790 m2 and 46,378 m2, without a compensation.

The Tax Administration evaluated the parcels at a total of RSD 65.2 million, that is, 700 dinars per m2.

Healthcare Europe will realize an investment in a production-storage space on a total of 20,000 m2, of which 12,500 m2 is the production part. It has an obligation to employ at least 300 people permanently over a period of five years from the date of the signing of the contract, and until December 31, 2027, it may not alienate the parcels it is getting as aid.

The parent company of the Ruma-based company is Healthcare Europe Co LTD was founded in 2003, in China. As of October 2020, it had 1,030 employees in Serbia, and the net profit at the end of October amounted to RSD 1.6 million.

The new investment in Ruma is worth EUR 19 million, of which EUR 15.6 million is meant for facilities, and EUR 2.8 million is meant for the procurement of the accompanying equipment.

Healthcare produces mattresses, toppers and memory foam products for renowned brands such as IKEA, JYSK and the American CVB, and their sales are oriented toward Europe and North America.
