Following the session, Vesic thanked all the members of the Crisis Response Team on behalf of the City of Belgrade for, as he said, showing that they understand the needs of the economy.
– I believe that we have together found a compromise for how to have the economy functioning while at the same time saving the public health of the citizens. Furthermore, I must note that Belgrade is the best region when it comes to the vaccination and that it is just that our fellow citizens should be awarded for being responsible – Vesic said on his Facebook account.
On the other hand, epidemiologist Branislav Tiodorovic, a member of the Crisis Response Team, was more reserved. According to him, the opening is possible if the number of new infections goes down.
– If this continues and if the number of new infections goes down rapidly, if all the measures are complied with, we will probably start thinking about gradually loosening the measures after May 8 – Tiodorovic said.
According to him, this means that the indoor sections at hospitality facilities will be able to work, but only at a 50% capacity.
