Leoni builds new hall at 7,000 square meters in Prokuplje

- German Leoni has started construction of another production hall at 7,000 square meters in Prokuplje - Milan Arsović, the Mayor of Prokuplje, told Beta.

Arsović pointed out that world-renowned company Leoni had employed 700 people from Serbia in its unit for production of automotive cables over the previous 12 months.

- Opening of this unit is also the biggest commercial success in the last few years, and it has partially solved our most serious problem, which is low employment rate - said Arsović.

He said that, in accordance with the contract that was signed on the occasion of the privatization of former factory of covers for automobile brakes FIAZ, Leoni would employ another 1,000 people from the municipality of Prokuplje by the end of 2010.

- Once the new production hall is put in operation, an opportunity will be opened for creation of new jobs - Arsović added.
