Pirot will get its first shopping center this autumn, which will spread on around 8,000 m2 in the location of former Predionica “Piroteks” facility.

It will feature 22 outlets and provide jobs for over 150 workers. The opening is announced for September 16. Goods made by famous world brands will be sold at the shopping center.

The mayor of Pirot, Vladan Vasic, while visiting the construction site, reminded of the laying down of the foundation stone for the first residential building in the “Zapadni Kej” location by the Nisava river.

– When we laid down the foundation stone for the residential complex “Zapadni Kej” in May 2018, I said and I will repeat it now that it is a project of great importance for Pirot. We now have features here that the city used to lack. Those were the main reasons. An additional reason is that this construction site created numerous jobs. A total of 150 to 200 workers will work here. Two years ago, a great market opened here, and that kind of a facility was also something that the city needed. Over 100 apartments were made in this location. The investors who built before, those who built residential buildings and the Shopping Center, paid over RSD 50 million to the city budget. That allowed us to pave city streets. This shopping center will make the offer in the city more complete, because it features over 20 outlets – Vasic said.

He added that the citizens would no longer have to go shopping in Nis, Belgrade or Sofia, because they would have everything in one place locally.

Investor Boban Mijalkovic said that the works were going as planned.

– When we started constructing the first building, it was uncharted territory for me, but the opening of the market put things in perspective. The idea of opening a shopping center arose spontaneously from that. The area of the center is around 8,000 m2. It will be a shopping center, which will be able to match the Stop Shop center in Nis. It will feature outlets of famous brands – said Mijalkovic.
