Turkish Acibadem Officially Becomes Majority Owner of Bel Medic – Hospital to Operate Under New Name

The signing of the agreement in Belgrade made the integration of two large medical systems, the Turkish Acibadem, one of the biggest hospital chains in the world, and Bel Medic, a Serbian private hospital, official. The agreement was signed by the owners and founders of Bel Medic, Jasmina and Milan Knezevic, and the owner and founder of Acibadem, Mehmet Ali Aydinlar.

Acibadem thereby became the majority owner of Bel Medic, a private health institution in Serbia with 26 years of tradition. It will operate under the name of Acibadem Bel Medic, and the CEO and co-owner, as until now, will be Jasmina Knezevic.

– This is a new beginning for Bel Medic, a great success, and we will all go forward together. We want Bel Medic to be a success in the medical field, benefiting the patients and Serbia as a whole – Jasmina Knezevic said and added that one of the plans was to educate the medical staff through Acibadem’s education center and faculty.



The owner and founder of Acibadem, Mehmet Ali Aydinlar, stated that it was a great project for everyone. He expressed his conviction that the health services in Serbia would be raised to a much higher level thanks to the synergy created in cooperation between Acibadem and Bel Medic.

– We have worked a lot to make this come true. The operations will be run by Mrs. Jasmina Knezevic and we will help her upgrade the operations and offer even better health services in Serbia. We want healthcare in Serbia to progress and I am happy that we are becoming partners – Aydinlar emphasized.
