Shanghai Electric Group to Complete TE-TO Pancevo by October 1 – Chinese Investors Interested in Investing in Gas-Powered TPPs

Chinese investors in energy in Serbia are expressing an interest in taking part in the construction of gas-powered thermal power plant in the upcoming period.

Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Zorana Mihajlovic talked today to a delegation of Shanghai Electric Group about the realization of the project of the Thermal Power Plant/Heating Plant Pancevo (TE-TO Pancevo), as well as potential projects of construction of gas power plants in Serbia.

Mihajlovic said that Serbia cooperated with companies from China on numerous infrastructure projects and that the value of the joint projects amounted to around EUR 15 billion.

– We expect the contractor to comply with the deadlines, and the ministry is there to help the projects get completed efficiently and successfully – Mihajlovic said, as announced by the Ministry of Mining and Energy.

The deputy manager of Shanghai Electric Group, Huang Zhengming, said that he expected TE-TO Pancevo to be ready for the beginning of the test run by October 1 and to be handed over to the investor, Gazprom Energoholding, by the end of the year.
