Hotel Grand on Kopaonik to Get New Look and VIP Features – Take a Look at the Design

In the year when it is celebrating its 40th anniversary, the famous Hotel Grand will celebrate the jubilee important for Kopaonik and Serbian tourism in the best way. Leaning on everything that Grand has represented so far and the values created throughout the years, the new edition of the hotel will be highlighted in a newer, timeless style, which is not subject to passing trends.

The beginning of modern tourism on Kopaonik is related to the construction of the Konaci tourist complex and Hotel Karavan, now Hotel Grand, which has always been an integral part of this mountain and synonymous with it and which has opened the door to jet-set tourism. Grand has kept its authenticity and charm to this day, although it was built in the original “Kopaonik architectural style”, which entails construction adapted to climate and landscape conditions and the national tradition, but also a human, natural environment, which fosters the values of traditionally cordial hospitality. Lately, the impact of MK Resort is reflected in everything that has made Grand and Kopaonik an even more desirable destination for vacations of unprecedented quality.

The large investments which follow the numerous initiatives and efforts to develop this destination, especially in the domain of summer and congress tourism, with the idea of having the mountain be active throughout the year, have had an effect. On that road, Hotel Grand has always led the way and been one of the main factors of development. That is why it is especially important that, in the year when it is celebrating its 40th anniversary, Hotel Grand will get a new look and new features and confirm its deserved place on Serbia’s most famous mountain.



A team of designers led by Aleksandar Savikin has come up with a project that the entire tourist destination can be proud of, and their work already got its chance to shine last year, when the fine dining restaurant Bacco opened in the most famous Hotel Grand.

– The main tendency in designing the new interior was to find the balance between luxury design with five stars and the desire to provide the guests with a comfortable and warm space. We relied on everything that Hotel Grand stands for, on the values created throughout the years, and which we decided to highlight and dress in a newer, timeless style, which is not subject to passing trends – the famous architect said on the occasion of the announcement of the new look of Hotel Grand on Kopaonik.

The capital investment worth EUR 20 million will provide a whole new luxury experience to the guests of this cult hotel. The works have been going on intensively since April and they entail the reconstruction of all public spaces and features for guests. The recognizable space of the reception hall and the authenticity of the lobby bar, which has been a favorite gathering place for generations, will get a whole new look with numerous attractive and innovative materials and details that are not often present in these areas. The new look also pertains to the restaurants, and when it comes to the gastronomy, the opening of the first fine dining restaurant on Kopaonik last winter is only an introduction to what the guests can expect at the new restaurants and bars. The best local flavors will be combined with an innovative approach and the latest culinary trends which celebrate healthy, high-quality ingredients and inspiring food.



What stands out especially is the spa segment, on which great focus is placed and for whose construction an eminent company which is behind the best Alpine spa centers was hired. Within the new spa concept, the most famous world brands in the domain of spa cosmetics were used, combined with the local raw materials and manufacture operations which will produce original products in limited series for the needs of luxury spa treatments. All this will position Hotel Grand as a unique hotel destination, where the guests will be able to experience unique spa rituals inspired and created based on local influences. Furthermore, the plan is to expand the external pool, which will provide the guests with an even better experience.

A modern underground garage, which is also part of the big reconstruction project, will solve the issue of parking for all guests in the most efficient way, and there will also be garage spaces for electric vehicles. The new Residences part will be especially luxurious and it will encompass a private spa center, a garage, a reception hall and all other features necessary for absolute comfort and VIP-treatment of the guests.

According to Rados Djordjevic, the general manager of MK Mountain Resort, traditional hospitality is synonymous with Grand, which will be the prime mover of the new changes in a fusion with a sophisticated and luxurious approach to the guests’ new needs.



– This project precisely aims to raise each segment by a star, which will be presented to the guests and the public at the beginning of the next winter season, in December 2021 – stated Rados Djordjevic.

In the year when it is celebrating its 40th anniversary, Hotel Grand will mark this jubilee, which is important for Kopaonik and Serbian tourism on the whole, in the best way possible. In the same way in which the jet-set charm is intertwined with the “pulse” of the mountain, so will the legendary hospitality on Kopaonik be combined with a sophisticated and luxurious approach to the guests’ new needs, because, after all, the spirit of this hotel has always come and will always come from its guests and the legendary hosts.
