Belgrade to Develop Nautical Tourism – Tender for Construction of Pontoon for Docking of Tourist Yachts

(Illustration) The Secretariat for Economy of the City of Belgrade has opened the tender for the construction of a city pontoon.

According to the specification of the task, the pontoon will be located on the right coast of the Danube (survey mark km 1165+300).

The tendering documentation explains why the city has decided to carry out the procedure of the public procurement of the works on the construction of the only city pontoon in the territory of Belgrade:

– The City of Belgrade is developing at a rapid pace as an attractive tourist destination as well. An increasing number of foreign and local guests are visiting the capital of Serbia. In addition to all the cultural and entertainment features, with its natural position, Belgrade lies on two large rivers, the Sava and the Danube. As an international river, the Sava flows through four states, whereas the Danube, as one of the largest European rivers, flows through a dozen states. For that reason, nautical tourism is developing at a rapid pace in Belgrade, which entails not just large passenger boats, but also river yachts, both foreign and local.

It is added that, with this project, Belgrade will enable an easier and better access to the coast for tourists and guests using river transport.

– This way, the vessels will be directed at good docking places and will not be forced to dock at inadequate and unsafe spots – the tender concludes.

The pontoon, which will be used for the docking of passenger tourist boats and yachts will consist of a pontoon structure with a canopy, a bridge structure and piles. The coast will be cleaned, developed and paved with concrete in the form of a ramp with a 5% incline, in order to accommodate disabled persons as well.

The pontoon will be rectangular in form, with a length of 25 meters and a width of 7 meters, with two hulls of the catamaran type.

As said, the preliminary project for the pontoon was prepared this March by the Axis d.o.o. engineering studio from Sremska Kamenica.

The tender expires on August 31.
