Municipality of Cajetina and KJP Zlatibor Developing Plan for Primary Waste Processing with Swedish Consultants

The local self-government of the municipality of Cajetina, with the public enterprise KJP Zlatibor, has been included in the Program of Support to Local Self-Governments on the Road to the European Union to the End of Upgrading the Field of Environmental Protection since 2017. With the help of the Swedish government, the program is carried out by the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities – Association of Towns and Municipalities of Serbia (SKGO) and the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SALAR). A meeting and a workshop of representatives of KJP Zlatibor and consultants from Sweden were also held on Zlatibor.

After a break of two and a half years, which is also due to the coronavirus, the partners from Sweden who work with KJP Zlatibor Cajetina on the project of primary waste selection arrived to Zlatibor, where they are continuing to run the workshops with the team in charge of the execution of the project. The steps that they are working on at the moment have to do with the plan of activities for the implementation of the primary selection.

Based on another project, which is realized through the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the Ministry of Finance, this public enterprise should get around 5,350 baskets for dry waste fraction, as well as a garbage truck with 16 cubic meters. After all the necessary equipment is procured, KJP Zlatibor will set routine procedures.
