Creators of Famous Game Talking Tom Developing Big Plans on Banat Farming Land – Preparation of Technology Which Will Provide Organic Food for Everyone

They got rich from an app, but now they’ve decided to implement their IT knowledge on the Banat farming land. The family of Samo Login from Slovenia owns land in Vojvodina since four years ago.

– When you are starting out from zero, the most difficult part is how to find enough agricultural land. We chose Banat because a good opportunity had presented itself there. Now I don’t regret having chosen that area, because we’ve found numerous associates here, who wholeheartedly work for our project – says Samo Login, a founder of the Login5 foundation from Slovenia, who owns farming land in Serbia, in the Zrenjanin and Novi Knezevac area, where he is commencing organic production.

The Login family, Iza and Samo, conquered the world, but also got rich, when they sold their share in the Outfit7 company to a Chinese company. Their most famous product is Talking Tom, a mobile phone app.

– In Serbia, we currently employ 65 people. We started four years ago, but we didn’t focus on promotion, but on development. Now we’re done with the three-year transitional period and the next sowing season on our farms will include organic grains. We want to produce healthy food for everyone. Today, it’s a privilege that not everyone can afford. We want to change that. We started with the farming crops, because they are a staple food for people. In the future, we want to expand to vegetable and fruit farming. We are already the biggest peaceful farm in the world, which means that we don’t use animal products.

Organic production, however, was not what this Slovenian married couple wanted initially. According to Login, back in 2007, when he sold the search engine Najdi.si, he decided to go into non-profit projects, which will contribute to a sustainable life of the mankind on our planet.

– The money I got from the sale was not enough for such big plans. For people from eastern Europe, it was also impossible to get some donations. That’s why I decided to do it by earning the money in order to invest it in sustainable projects. To that end, with my wife and six other co-founders, I made the company Outfit7, known for its app Talking Tom. The plan was to sell it seven years later, for EUR 100 million. We sold it almost exactly to the date, but for USD 1 million – stated Samo Login.

During that period, Login continues, they observed what the biggest challenges for the humanity were. In the beginning, they believed it was energy, but then they saw it was food production.

– Agriculture is a business with low profitability. That’s where we saw a great potential for the development of a technology which would enable sustainable production. Because, if we compare agriculture with other industries, it’s still not in the 21st century. Our most important product is knowledge. We will share all the knowledge with everyone for free. Agriculture is the biggest polluter and has a great impact on the reduction of biodiversity in the world. Countries could do a lot to upgrade it by passing laws. We don’t have the technology for a better production, but we will solve that part ourselves – Login concludes.

According to Login, the most important thing in organic production is manure. Theoretically, however, it is impossible to use it for the production of all food in the world.

– That is why we’re working on a technology that would make organic food available to everyone. We are forced to develop a technology of green fertilizing, where agriculturists produce the fertilizer themselves. I believe that it is the only way of sustainable fertilizing and that it is not impossible, it’s just that not enough has been invested in its development. Our vision entails a change in the whole chain of food production. In Slovenia, we are already working on developing prototype products. We hope that interested food producers will use our production protocols, which we will also give away for free. Of course, to us, it’s not the profit that’s important, but that the results of our development are practically implemented. However, we will be forced to cover the first phases of processing ourselves.

According to Login, there’s a great difference between dealing in organic agriculture and developing a game like Talking Tom.

– We didn’t approach agriculture as a business. Due to the investments in the development, the whole project will certainly never be profitable. However, on a smaller scale, the farming land we are working on in the sense of production must be profitable, otherwise, our technology will be of no use to anyone – Login concluded.

Biggest producer of agricultural technologies

The knowledge in IT was the biggest motive for entering this project. Login says that he sees the state of the technology and the possibilities of modern data-driven development, which are apparent in all industries except this one. He adds that that is why they’ve started developing their own IT support tools. A half of the LoginEKO team is working on it. Their advantage is that they have their own company and their own development of information technologies.

– As the agrarian business is a low-profit business, agriculturists are apprehensive and relatively slow to use untested technologies. We, however, are the biggest producer of agricultural information technologies in the world, with our own farm, and that enables us to realize a fast growth – Login concludes.
