Nicola Pontara Appointed New World Bank Manager in Belgrade

Nicola Pontara has been appointed new country manager for Serbia at the World Bank, as announced.

Pontara, as said, will manage the program and the activities of the World Bank in Serbia and cooperate with the Government of Serbia, other actors and partners and sister institutions – IFC and MIGA, for the purpose of a more efficient realization of the program in Serbia.


Pontara was previously the manager of the World Bank’s office in Laos, within the East Asia and Pacific region.

Pontara holds a PhD in Economics from the University of London.
