Mihajlovic pointed out that the Ministry is implementing many projects in the energy sector in partnership with KfW and thanked for the good cooperation and support for a more efficient implementation the green agenda.
- As you know, we have changed the laws in the energy and mining sector, we are preparing a new strategy for energy development until 2030 with a vision until 2050, and we are also working on developing an integrated plan for climate and energy. We have prepared to be much more efficient in implementing the green agenda. We want to be a regional leader when it comes to energy efficiency, energy transition and the green agenda. KfW Bank is our important partner. The total value of realized, ongoing projects, as well as planned joint projects is almost 1.5 billion EUR. I am glad that you are visiting Serbia and that on Wednesday we will visit the hydroelectric power plant and heating plant under construction in Mali Zvornik together - said Mihajlovic, according to a statement published on the Ministry's website.
She added that a lot of work is being done on projects to increase energy efficiency, especially in households, that the EE Fund has been established, and that special emphasis is being placed on supporting citizens in becoming energy producers through the installation of solar panels.
Klaus Müller expressed satisfaction for his first visit to Serbia and he stated that for KfW, cooperation with Serbia, especially in the energy sector, is very important.
- It is important that you have changed the laws and that you take initiatives in accordance with the goals of the green agenda. Investing in energy efficiency and renewable energy sources is extremely important and we are interested in supporting you in that. We plan EUR 75 million only for public investments. The Energy Efficiency Fund is also very interesting for us, and we want to support you in terms of energy transition and capacity building for energy production from renewable sources, such as the Kostolac wind farm - said Müller.
The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of Germany to Serbia, Thomas Schieb, who pointed out the excellent cooperation with the Ministry of Mining and Energy.
