The intention of the local self-government, following the sale of one of the parcels to the Bulgarian company Anthony Design, was to keep the final parcel in the Industrial Zone Beles for themselves, so that it would be ready for a brownfield investment, but, as they explain, due to the circumstances that occurred in the meantime, it is being sold as a location for a greenfield investment.
The Bulgarian investor is Megainvest Holding and it is active in various fields – from commerce, through the export of goods, to energy and road infrastructure.
All six parcels have been bought out now, and only one factory has been built, which is currently operational. Dimitrov announced the possibility of the termination of the sales and purchase contracts and having the parcels put up for sale again.
– All six parcels have been bought out, one factory has been built and is operational, Eco Rubber, and another one is under construction. We’ll see what happens with the other investors. If we see that they can’t work, we will activate the contract clause and put the parcels up for sale again – Dimitrov says.
Let us remind that the expansion of the industrial zone by another 11 hectares was announced back in 2019.
