– We have already talked to [Hungarian prime minister] Viktor Orban about the construction of a nuclear power plant in Paks and we are ready to be a minority owner in order to ensure our energy security, especially due to our strengthening of the economic activity – Vucic said.
He repeated that the energy situation was such that it threatens a large number of countries in the region, their economic survival, and that the question was whether they are able to withstand power shortages.
In that sense, he sees as responsible the statement made by the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, that is its important to insist on gas and nuclear plants.
That is why, he says, he will talk to Hungarian partners, because Serbia has an interest and can be a minority co-owner of the nuclear power plant in Paks.
– We are ready to pay for 5, 10 or 15% in order to increase our power, for the economy, but also for the citizens – Vucic said.
