Postanska Stedionica Buys Komercijalna Banka ad Banjaluka

The Postanska Stedionica bank signed an agreement on the purchase of Komercijalna Banka a.d. Banjaluka, on which occasion it was pointed out that the acquisition amounted to the creation of a kind of a “financial highway” between Serbia and Republika Srpska.

The agreement was signed by the chairman of the Executive Board of Postanska Stedionica, Bojan Kekic, and the chairman of the Executive Board of Komercijalna Banka Beograd, Vlastimir Vukovic.

In a statement made following the signing, Kekic said that this would strengthen the trust that the citizens of Republika Srpska have toward Serbia and that the purchase of the bank would contribute to the further development of the corporate relations of the two economies.

Kekic did not disclose the details of the purchase today, because they are waiting for an approval of the regulators, so the purchase will be finalized at the Banjaluka Stock Exchange. Kekic also said that he was satisfied with the agreed details of the purchase of this bank and pointed out that they would be presented to the public a month and a half to two months later.

He pointed out that this was the first expansion of Postanska Stedionica outside the borders of Serbia and added that he hoped that it would not be the last.

Let us remind that the Slovenian NLB acquired Komercijalna Banka in late 2020, and Postanska Stedionica is 100% owned by the state of Serbia.
