Vesic: Deviation of First Subway Line Toward Petlovo Brdo Accepted, But Construction Planned for a Later Phase

The “deviation of the fist line (of the subway), which should encompass Cerak and Petlovo Brdo from Pozeska Street” has been accepted, said the deputy mayor of Belgrade, Goran Vesic.

– Some ideas have been accepted, because the Urban Planning Institute deemed them an improvement, whereas others have not been accepted. It is true that a deviation of the first line, which should encompass Cerak and Petlovo Brdo and that whole area from Pozeska Street, has been accepted. This has been accepted as an idea, and a deviation of the subway line is envisaged, but will not be built as part of the first phase, but at one of the later phases. The subway system is being built as long as the city exists. That’s the case in London and Moscow too, you first build one, then another, then a third line and each generation continues building and expanding the subway. The expert commissions for plans rated, along with the Urban Planning Institute, each suggestion.
