The minister of mining and energy of Serbia, Zorana Mihajlovic, stated today that gas supply from Bulgaria had been normalized and that, since Wednesday afternoon, Serbia had been getting regular gas supplies from that country.

She said on TV Prva that it was necessary to expand the gas storage and plan strategic reserves, as well as a regional crisis plan.

– The essence is that we will get out of this crisis with the fact that we have sufficient quantities of energy and energy sources for the households and the economy. The prices for the citizens will not change by the end of the winter season – the minister added.

According to her, the storage facility in Banatski Dvor should be expanded from 450 million to 800 million cubic meters within the next year, so that there would be strategic gas reserves and so that Serbia would not have to import gas in emergency situations.

Mihajlovic said that this had been discussed for years, but that nothing had been done. She added that the technical problems on gas pipelines were regional and that it was important to have a joint crisis plan with Hungary and Bulgaria.
