Quicker transport of goods by train from Subotica to Bar
The representatives of Bar-based Kontejnerski Terminal i Generalni Tereti (Container Terminal and General Freights) have presented the possibility of transport of various goods to the businessmen in Subotica in the premises of the Regional Chamber of Commerce Subotica.
Slobodan Vojinovic, the President of the Regional Chamber of Commerce Subotica, said at the start of that presentation that between seven and nine container trains were transporting goods from the direction of Vojvodina and Serbia to Bar in Montenegro every day.
Andrija Radusinovic, the Executive Director of Kontejnerski Terminal i Generalni Tereti from Bar, pointed out that the Italian Government had financed the study pointing to what should be done in order to increase the speed of trains on the railway from Subotica to Bar from current 40 to 80 km/h.
The Italian Government placed 139 million euros at the disposal of Serbia and Montenegro for the repair of the railway in order for passengers and goods to move faster towards the Adriatic, it was said to the businessmen of Vojvodina and Subotica.
