Vujovic said that the signing of the agreement marked the beginning of the third phase of the project – “Green Transition – Implementation of the Directive on Industrial Emissions in Serbia for 2021-2025” (IED 3), worth EUR 1.7 million, which is important for fulfilling Serbia’s obligations within Chapter 27 – Living Environment and Climate, according to the ministry’s website.
The implementation partner on the project is the Center for Cleaner Production of the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy of the University of Belgrade.
Vujovic pointed out that, within the project, there was a plan to prepare a new Law on Integrated Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution, as well as bylaws that would be fully harmonized with the Directive on Industrial Emissions. The project will also help prepare integrated permits for 15 industrial facilities and seven farms.
