The Zero Emissions service from Gebrüder Weiss enables customers to offset the CO2 footprint of transported freight and promote certified climate-protection projects.
From November 1, 2021, Gebrüder Weiss customers have the opportunity to fully compensate the CO2 emissions generated during the transport of their cargo. With its new Zero Emissions service, the transport and logistics provider computes and documents the CO2 output for every shipment carried worldwide by road, rail, sea and air.
– Zero Emissions gives our customers full, detailed transparency on their shipments' CO2 footprints. In this way, we help them move towards climate neutrality and a balanced life-cycle assessment – said Wolfram Senger-Weiss, CEO of Gebrüder Weiss.

The emissions calculated using the web-based EcoTransIT database are itemized on the freight invoice together with the offsetting costs. Compensation payments made by customers are channeled into certified climate-protection projects on several different continents. All carefully selected and closely monitored, these projects either significantly reduce CO2 emissions or eliminate them completely. Users offsetting their freight receive a certificate documenting their support for the relevant project.
Not only does Gebrüder Weiss partner its clients en route to climate neutrality. It has also set ambitious goals for itself. By 2030, it is seeking to achieve climate neutrality at its logistics facilities by using electricity generated with photovoltaic systems.
Moreover, the company already deploys a range of low-emission trucks that are powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG, CNG), electricity and hydrogen (fuel cells).
