Jubilee 50th FEST to Be Held from February 25 till March 6

The International Film Festival – FEST is celebrating a jubilee this year, its 50th edition, and will be held between February 25 and March 6, 2022, in Belgrade, as a production of the Center of Belgrade Festivals. The slogan presented on the visual design of this year’s festival, “A New Brave World” is a play on words referring to the slogan of the first FEST, held in 1971, which was “A Brave New World”.

Over 80 premieres in various program selections will be presented to the audience, and the screenings will take place in 12 movie theaters throughout Belgrade.

– It is our great pleasure that films that won the main awards at two of the most important world festivals, Cannes and Venice, last year, will be shown at FEST – Titane, by Julia Ducournau, the winner of the Cannes Palme d’Or, and Happening, by Audrey Diwan, the winner of the Golden Lion at the 78th Venice International Film Festival – the organizers say.

The film Strahinja Banovic, by Stefan Arsenijevic, will be screened at the opening of the 50th FEST on February 25 at Kombank Dvorana. This will be the Serbian premiere of the film, which has won numerous awards, among which are the Crystal Globe at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival and the Best Actor award (Ibrahim Koma) and the Special Jury Mention for cinematography (Jelena Stankovic) at the same festival.

The Belgrade Victor award for an extraordinary contribution to film art will be given to the director Emir Kusturica and the actor Predrag Miki Manojlovic.
