The president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, has stated that he is aware that the position in favor of banning the excavation of lithium is growing stronger among the members of the Government and that he may remain the only one not giving up on the project.

– At the moment, we don’t have the desire or the strength, nor have we gotten any studies, nor will there be any changes, nor will anyone do anything about it, until we see ourselves what should be done and how. Although, I have noticed that, in the Government of Serbia too, the general tendency is to ban the excavation of lithium, so I may remain the only one who thinks that we shouldn’t give up on something like that so easily in the future – Vucic told the press at the Presidency of Serbia.

When asked to comment on Germany’s beginning of exploitation of lithium in the valley of the Rhine and on the fact that permits for lithium explorations are issued in that country despite the Greens being part of the ruling coalition, Vucic said that it was a known fact that lithium is also excavated in Portugal and in many countries in South America which are the closest allies to the USA.

– Whereas, in Serbia, we’re supposed to have WW3 over that same lithium – Vucic concluded.
