Psychiatry by Bavarian Model – Tender for Reconstruction and Extension of Dr Laza Lazarevic Clinic Announced for the First Half of the Year

The reconstruction of the old building of the Dr Laza Lazarevic hospital and the construction of a new one will begin this year, the institution, which treats the most severe cases of psychiatric diseases, told Novosti. The works on the reconstruction and construction of this clinic were announced more than two years ago, but they haven’t been realized, because the Covid pandemic has slowed them down.

– We are finally completing the documentation and we expect the Office for Public Investments of the Republic of Serbia to publish the tender for the contractor by mid-2022 – Dr Ivana Stasevic Karlicic, the acting director of the Dr Laza Lazarevic Clinic, told Novosti.

According to professor Stasevic Karlicic, the existing building of the Dr Laza Lazarevic hospital already has a new façade, and what follows is the reconstruction of the interior, in order to turn the clinic into a modern inpatient hospital modeled after the most modern clinics of this type in Europe. The new hospital building will be built alongside the existing one, and it will feature a dispensary and an outpatient hospital.

– The project activities and the preparation of the preliminary designs were done in cooperation with the Bavarian State Ministry of Health and Care – said Stasevic Karlicic.

– German experts have provided expert support to us in creating a modern psychiatric hospital, whose spatial properties will be able to meet the patients’ requirements. Each room will get its own bathroom and space for visits. It is one of the conditions for securing the highest standard for the patients.
