Annino De Venezia succeeds Giorgio Marchegiani, the president of the Executive Board and, until now, the CEO of DDOR Osiguranje of the Unipol Group, who ran the chamber from 2016.
As said, De Venezia has been active in Serbia since 2015 as the Operating Director and since 2017 as the Director General of Aunde Srbija d.o.o. from Jagodina, a part of the AUNDE Group, which produces covers for the automotive industry. The company has over 800 employees and has launched a program of dual education for high school students, the press release says.
De Venezia, it is further said, has always contributed significantly to the promotion of Made-in-Italy products in Serbia, as he is a faithful supporter of the Italian skill of doing business.
Annino De Venezia stated that it was his great pleasure to accept the new responsibility and that he intended to support both the companies with the Italian capital, of which there are over 600 in Serbia, and numerous Serbian companies which want to expand to the Italian market.
– My experience in the production sector helps me to understand very well the needs of business entities in the process of internationalization and to recognize the advantages of carrying out activities in Serbia and Italy in the business context after the pandemic. I intend to visit all the members of the Chamber as soon as possible, in order to learn about the business needs of each individual company – the new president emphasized.
Giorgio Marchegiani said that, in the preceding years, the number of the Chamber’s initiatives to the benefit of the members and the Italian-Serbian business community had increased considerably, even while facing the challenges imposed by the market and the pandemic, with the help of a mixed digital-physical model.
– Italian presence in Serbia is constantly increasing and branching out, ranging from production, through services, to renewable energy sources and technology. We can say that the two geographically close countries are getting more and more strongly integrated in terms of economy, with mutual affection which strengthens the business ties – Marchegiani said, according to the press release.
