Belarus has included Serbia and Lichtenstein on the list of countries subject to the embargo on the import of food products, which Minsk implemented in response to the sanctions from the West, as announced by the Belarusian agency Belta.

The list is expanded in response to the sanctions from the West, and Belarusian media report that, at the end of last year, Serbia joined the fifth set of measures against Minsk.

As said, the government in Minsk reached the decision with the aim of “ensuring the protection of the national interests of Belarus”.

For now, the measures are to last for six months, and they pertain to products such as meat, dairy, fruit, vegetables, salt and some other food products.

It is also noted that the embargo does not pertain to baby food or biologically active food supplements, medicines and medical products.

The list of countries initially subject to the embargo featured the European Union and its member states, USA, Canada, Norway, Albania, Iceland, North Macedonia, Great Britain, Montenegro and Switzerland.
