Norwegian Euro BB builds fish processing plant in Uzice - Jobs for 250 people
Norwegian Euro BB intends to open a fish processing plant in Bela Zemlja, near Uzice, in the construction of which about 3 million euros will be invested.
As explained by Branislav Jezdimirovic, one of the minor co-owners of that company, that investment should be implemented in phases over the next three years and the plan is that the plant employs 250 people.
The representatives of Euro BB have offered jobs for 225 workers in the production sector and 25 workers in the administrative sector.
- The future fish processing plant's product portfolio will include smoked salmon, mackerel fillets, Serbian trout, and other fish products - said Jezdimirovic.
A part in the implementation of this investment has also been taken by the management of the city of Uzice, which hosted Norwegian businessmen and representatives of the Embassy of Kingdom of Norway to Belgrade last year, who expressed a big interest in successful implementation of the project.
The investor's representatives point out that the fish will be mainly imported from Norway, while several thousand tons of Serbian trout will be supplied from the existing fish ponds in Serbia.
During the preparation of the implementation of this investment, as Jezdimirovic points out, the investor faces a series of administrative barriers and tries to overcome them in association with the competent ministries, but he does not forget a bad experience related to the can factory in Nis where an investment of 3.5 million euros has become the subject of a court dispute.
