The City of Belgrade has opened the tender for the procurement of 80 new trolleys, stated the deputy mayor, Goran Vesic. He added that the tender was worth five and a half billion dinars, that is, EUR 47 million, as reported by Beoinfo.

– From those who are to deliver the trolleys we ask for them to be the best trolleys produced in the world, to have at least 10 km of autonomous driving, which means that they will simultaneously be trolleys and buses and that they will be able to run at least ten kilometers without the trolley mechanism, as electric buses. That would enable us to extend some trolley lines and connect different trolley lines without building a network, which is especially important, because you can’t just build a network anywhere – Vesic said.

Vesic added that the trolleys would be low-floor vehicles and that they will have ramps for disabled people and a Wi-Fi service.

– The demand is for each trolley to have 78 seats. We are buying 60 single buses and 20 articulated ones. From the moment of the signing of the agreement, the deadline period is 300 days for the delivery of the first 20 trolleys, and then, each year, another 20 trolleys should be delivered – Vesic said.
