Location conditions issued for the new bridge in Novi Sad

The Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure has issued location conditions for the construction of the bridge in the extension of the Boulevard of Europe in Novi Sad. The conditions were issued, as stated in the document, for the "phased construction of the bypass around Novi Sad with the bridge over the Danube", i.e. for the needs of "preliminary design, construction permit and construction project" in accordance with the General Regulation Plan for the Boulevard of Europe.

In the short time period from late November 2021 to early February 2022, more than 20 conditions have been issued by public companies, ministries and competent institutions to the Corridors of Serbia.

The planned bridge over the Danube is an extension of Boulevard of Europe in its southern direction, and should connect the primary street network of Novi Sad with Sremska Kamenica.

The plan calls for a minimum of two traffic lanes in each direction, a minimum of two two-way bicycle paths and a minimum of two sidewalks for the movement of pedestrians.

The planned route of the bridge starts between Tone Hadzica and Braće Grulovic streets, with a 0.9-kilometer-long viaduct that leads to 1300 Kaplara Street.

The route envisages two roundabouts, and it also crosses the defensive embankment next to the Shipyard in the east, and Sodros to the west. Immediately after the ascent to the right bank of the Danube, the corridor ends by connecting with the state road.

The Boulevard of Europe is marked as a state road in several places, and according to the statements, the road construction should meet the conditions of heavy freight traffic.
