The German company Bizerba has started the construction of a factory in Valjevo where it will produce scales and invest EUR 30 million.
Bizerba is one of the global leaders in the production of scales, that is, suppliers of hardware and software solutions in weighing, cutting and labeling technologies. Production at the factory in Valjevo on an area of 11,000 m2 should begin in the final quarter of this year, and it will employ more than 300 people.
Andreas Kraut, Bizerba owner and CEO, said that the factory would be equipped with the latest technical systems and that it would be built in line with the new energy standards.
According to him, the project will be realized within the planned deadline, and a center for the training and education of the future employees is also being prepared.
The laying of the foundation stone for the factory was also attended by the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, who said that the salary at the factory would be twice as big as the average salary in Valjevo:
– The average gross salary would be EUR 1,772, so more than EUR 1,100 in net terms.
He added that, before the factory starts working, the Lajkovac-Valjevo fast route will be completed.
Bizerba has an annual turnover of EUR 730 million and operates in 120 countries, where it employs 4,300 people. It was founded in Balingen, a town in Baden-Wurttemberg, in 1866.
Among other things, the company produces machines for the cutting of meat, label printers, logistics and goods shipment systems, goods inspection systems and industrial software.
