The foundation stone for the new, third facility of the Italian company Aunde, one of the most famous world producers of car seat covers, has been laid down in Jagodina.

– When we started operating in Jagodina in 2014, we produced 2,000 car seat covers a day, and today we produce 15,000 a day, and at the new facility, there will be approximately another 4,000 covers a day. We export 95% of what we produce, and our purchasers are Mercedes, Ferrari, Fiat, Iveco and other famous car manufacturers from Germany, France and Italy. At the moment, we employ 770 workers in Jagodina, and with the new facility, there will be 1,100 – stated the managing director of Aunde Serbia, Annino De Venezia, who is also the president of the Italian-Serbian Chamber of Commerce.

Olivera Jocic, the assistant minister of trade, tourism and telecommunications of Serbia, stated that Italy was the third biggest trade partner of Serbia at that moment and that Aunde was one of the 10 biggest Italian exporters from Serbia:

– Aunde currently spreads on 10,000 m2 in Jagodina, and when we finish the new facility, it will be 15,000 m2.

This year, two new factories are opening in the industrial zone in Jagodina, one belonging to the Austrian company Schiebel, and the other being a new factory of the German Fischer, so by the end of the year, there will be 14 factories of foreign investors with around 3,000 workers in Jagodina.

A new feature in the development of industrial zones, primarily toward aiding the families, has been announced.

Last year, an absolute record in the trade between Serbia and Italy of EUR 4,100,000,000 was achieved, although it was a year of the pandemic, entailing hampered business operation conditions.

– After Italy canceled all the pandemic restriction measures for entry to the country on March 1, I expect an even better trade between Italy and Serbia – stated the ambassador of Italy to Serbia, Carlo Lo Cascio.
