Agreement of Serbia and UAE on Innovations and New Technologies Announced

The minister without a portfolio in chare of innovations and technological development at the Government of Serbia, Nenad Popovic, and the minister for artificial intelligence and digital economy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Omar Al Olama, have agreed for the two countries to sign, as soon as possible, an agreement on cooperation in innovations and new technologies, it was announced today. Popovic and Al Olama met within the World Government Summit, held today and tomorrow in Dubai.

At the meeting, the readiness of Serbia and the UAE to deepen the bilateral cooperation in innovations and digital economy was confirmed, and the announced signing of the agreement is one of the concrete steps in that direction.

As his cabinet announced, Popovic invited Al Olama to visit Belgrade and see for himself how Serbia is developing in the field of IT, but also the construction of roads, hospitals, rail traffic and smart cities.


The World Government Summit is attended by over 4,000 people from 190 countries, of which around 200 ministers and 20 prime ministers and heads of state.

Within the summit, numerous discussions will be organized to the end of creating new state policies for facing the global challenges in economy, energy, healthcare, ecology and innovations.
