The deadline for the implementation of the new model of fiscalization will not be extended, stated the minister of finance of Serbia, Sinisa Mali, who visited the Lidl supermarket in Vidikovac in order to make sure the new system of e-fiscalization that the store chain implemented functioned properly.

He visited the store in the company of the director of the Tax Administration of the Republic of Serbia, Dragana Markovic, and the CEO of Lidl Srbija, Dragan Cigoja. On that occasion, the minister bought several products carrying the “Made in Serbia” tag, after which he and the CEO of Lidl Srbija put the sticker saying “I am e-fiscalized too” on the door of the facility.

– We have visited the Lidl supermarket in Belgrade, in Vidikovac, one of around twenty Lidl supermarkets which are already in the new system of fiscalization. By the end of the month, so, within the deadline, all 59 Lidl supermarket stores will be e-fiscalized – the minister said.

He thanked the CEO of Lidl Srbija that the store chain supported the efforts of the Government of Serbia in countering the grey economy, but also in instilling order in the payment system of the Republic of Serbia.

– At the moment, we have 138,000 fiscalization subjects which have applied for the new system of fiscalization and which have applied nearly 200,000 locations throughout Serbia. I expect that, by the end of the month, all those subjects will be connected to the new system. There are two important bits of information that I want to highlight. The first is that there will be no deadline extensions and that the end of April remains the deadline. I am saying this because some informal groups have been making statements that the deadline for the implementation of the new fiscalization system will be extended. By May 1, we expect all the subjects of the new fiscalization system to be in the new system. After May 1, the Tax Administration is to start on-the-site controls – Mali said, as announced on the website of the ministry.

He added that there had been a lot of calls from companies which needed to be fiscalized and which needed to be visited by the teams to install the devices and that the whole process was slowly getting too busy.

– We therefore appeal to everybody to do it as soon as possible, so that we don’t have everything happening in the last ten days of April, which would make the on-the-site teams unable to connect all the users and lead to delays beyond May 1 – Mali said.

He added that “we all need to count on taking the fiscal slip, reading the QR code and knowing it’s in line with the law”.

– Only those who don’t issue fiscal slips benefit from the grey economy. On the other hand, all citizens of Serbia benefit from taking fiscal slips.

He thanked the CEO of Lidl Srbija for the fact that the store chain employed 2,800 people and that they had plans for a further expansion.

The director of the Tax Administration, Dragana Markovic, stated that the implementation of the new fiscalization in store chains throughout Serbia was a big step.

– At the moment, the Tax Administration is getting over a million bills a day. We expect even more and we are ready for it – Markovic said.

She also used the opportunity to invite fiscalization subjects to switch to the new system as soon as possible, because the servicing workers were expected to be very busy in the second half of April, which could be a problem. The director of the Tax Administration expressed hope that, in May, all the fiscalization subjects would be issuing fiscal slips with a recognizable and checkable QR code.

The CEO of Lidl Srbija, Dragan Cigoja, said that the company had long-term plans for business operations in the local market and that they were happy to have the opportunity to contribute to the development of Serbia by getting included in the new e-fiscalization system.

– I thank the associates from the Ministry of Finance and the Tax Administration for their efficient support and cooperation. With the switching to the new e-fiscalization system, we used the opportunity to also implement the new Lidl ecological bill, which contributes to environmental protection, because there are no chemical inks, so it’s suitable for recycling and not harmful to the environment, and it is also resilient and durable. Furthermore, the paper is FSC-certified, which means that the materials come from sustainable resources – he said.

The transition period for switching to the new fiscalization model began on November 1 and will last until April 30, 2022.

During the transition period, the old and new models will function in parallel.

The application period for the subsidies which the state provides for the new fiscalization model is over, but the application of the business premise locations through the ePorezi (eTaxes) portal is still in progress.
