While we are waiting for Pancevo to start producing artificial fertilizers, the demand at the Commodities Exchange has stopped. Primarily due to the high prices, but also the uncertainty about the export of grains. Last week there was an offer of fertilizers, but there was almost no demand. The price of urea ranged between EUR 910 and 920, which was on Tuesday, since which there has been neither supply nor demand. The ammonium-nitrate was offered for EUR 870 per ton, and the lime-ammonium-nitrate for EUR 850 per ton. A week earlier, the price of urea was EUR 917 to 922 per ton.
Agriculturists are not even buying fertilizer at the moment. The high prices, along with the excessively expensive fuel, are making this spring’s sowing additional difficult, as well as the feeding of what was sown in the winter. Those who made their purchases on time, even before the price of fertilizer went up, can work, and those who didn’t may not even get it now. This will certainly reflect on both the upcoming sowing and the harvest.
