Fourth Rakija Fest in Belgrade on December 11 and 12
The fourth international fair Rakija Fest will be held on December 11 and 12 at Continental hotel in Belgrade, with the participation of about 50 manufacturers of natural fruit brandies from Serbia and abroad, the organizers announced today.
The aim of the manifestation, which is organized by Rakia Bar and the Association of manufacturers of natural fruit brandies "Strongest Flavors of Serbia", is to promote rakija (brandy) as a Serbian brand, to present the culture of serving rakija, to promote rakija as an integral part of cocktails, as well as a possibility of its combining with food.
The manifestation will be held under the slogan "Rakija is a Serbian brand" and under the patronage of the Ministry of Agriculture of Serbia and with the support of the Tourism Organization of Belgrade.
The visitors will have an opportunity to get familiar with the history and the way in which rakija is produced while tasting fruit brandies (rakija), as well as to attend the Rakija Chess contest, preparation of cocktails with rakia, and a cooking show.
There will also be some expert lectures, which are primarily intended for the rakija manufacturers, and their aim is to determine the current position of rakija as a Serbian brand, as well as possible directions of its development.
A part of the festival will be the evaluation of brandies, as well as declaration of the winner of the festival.
Rakija Fest has joined the "Either Drink or Drive" campaign in order to draw the attention of visitors to a responsible alcohol consumption and to point to the risk of combining alcohol and driving.
The ticket costs 300 dinars, while students will be able to buy the ticket at the price of 200 dinars by showing their student booklets.
The festival will be open between 11 AM and 9 PM on December 11 and between 11 AM and 8 PM on December 12.
