Donald MacLaren appointed as new Chairman of Imlek Managing Board

Danube Foods Group has appointed Donald MacLaren, a British diplomat, as the Chairman of the Managing Board of Imlek, the leading milk manufacturer in Serbia.

- I am honored to be appointed by European and American investors and owners as the Chairman of the Managing Board of one of the most successful and innovative companies in Serbia. Imlek is the company seen by the European Union not only as a model in the dairy industry, but also as the pioneer of modernization and competitiveness of Serbia in Europe. My mission will be to protect Imlek's reputation and outstanding results that Danube Foods Group has achieved in the process of transformation of the company over the last seven years. That is the company Serbia can be proud of - MacLaren stated.

Educated in Oxford and Scotland, Donald MacLaren graduated from the Edinburgh University. During his career of a diplomat and ambassador, which is nearly 30 years long, he specialized for the countries of East Europe while working in the embassies of Great Britain to Berlin, Moscow, Kiev and Georgia. Donald MacLaren is the leader of the Scottish clan MacLaren. He is married and the father of five children.

- As the owner of land in Scotland, I am aware of the difficulties faced by farmers, which range from unpredictable weather to reliance on the government subventions. As a parent, I know that my kids expect milk on the table. As a long-time diplomat, I am familiar with the term "government's responsibility", especially in the situation when it has the national obligation to solve the problem of shortage of milk - he said and added that we are facing challenges.

- This is not a time for conflicts. This is the time for a partnership - the new Chairman of the Imlek Managing Board pointed out.
