The goal of the plan, prepared by PE Urbanizam Pancevo is, among other things, to provide appropriate planning regulations for the construction of new industrial facilities in the Pancevo petrochemical complex, the so-called southern industrial zone of Pancevo.
HIP Azotara
When it comes to HIP Azotara, the plan calls for the construction of a plant for obtaining blue hydrogen.
- Agreements are underway with Siemens Energy on the manner and dynamics of the realization of this project and the procurement of the Silyzer 300 plant - the plan states.
It also mentions that the method of obtaining blue hydrogen as an energy source in the future, leads to a significant reduction in CO2 emissions based on carbon capture technology:
- Blue hydrogen as the energy source of the future will contribute to energy stability as a low-energy source carbon content.
It is pointed out that the plans for expansion and construction of new plants in HIP Azotara are based on the maximum increase in ammonia consumption on a daily basis and thus the reduction in its storage, and on the other hand readiness to stop the use of granular fertilizers in the EU after 2025.
For HIP Petrohemija, our largest producer of ethylene monomers, the plan calls for reconstruction and increase of the PENG factory capacity from 63,000 to 89,000 tons and the PEVG factory from 52,000 to 90,000 tons.
Plan also calls for, among other things, the reconstruction of the Ethylene factory and water treatment plant, reconstruction of the wastewater landfill, construction of the waste sludge landfill and the PP 180KTA factory, construction and upgrading of facilities and plants in the Electrolysis and Energy factories, as well as construction of a new Polypropylene factory.
It is emphasized that the polypropylene project is currently the most important strategic business in which the Government of Serbia is cooperating with the company NIS through the privatization of HIP Petrohemija.
Pancevo Oil Refinery
In the Pancevo Oil Refinery, after the completion of the Deep Refining plant, the modernization is planned to continue, i.e. the third phase which includes the reconstruction of the catalytic cracking plant (FCC), construction of a plant for production of ETBE (high octane gasoline components), construction of new facilities , reconstruction of the industrial track around the refinery, construction of a facility for temporary storage of hazardous waste, as well as adaptation of the port area.
Special port
Within the petrochemical complex there is also a Special Port, where the expansion of existing port capacities is planned, i.e. the construction of terminals (container, inter-modal and Huckepack) intended for reception and dispatch of wide range goods, as well as construction of open and / or closed warehouses for the following goods: consumer goods, raw materials, semi-finished products, etc. The capacities will be defined at a later stage.
Transnafta
Finally, when it comes to the Transnafta company, in order to simplify the transport of petroleum products between the existing (Pancevo Oil Refinery) and future storage terminals (product system warehouse, reserve requirement warehouse, Conpet warehouse in Romania), it is necessary, as stated, to enable the existing system of two HIP Petrohemija product pipelines and connect them internally to the respective Terminals.
The plan reiterates that the existing product pipeline system of HIP Petrohemija a.d. Pancevo - Solventul, Timisoara, consisting of two pipelines 65 km long through Serbia and 50 km through Romania, was intended for the transport of propylene and ethylene, but has not been in use since 1999 and has fallen into disrepair due to inadequate maintenance.
- Transnafta a.d. is currently in negotiations with the Romanian company Conpet regarding its reactivation in order to provide motor fuels produced at the Pancevo Oil Refinery to the Timisoara district of Romania - the document says, stating that these had been initialed by the Romanian and Serbian ministries back in 2015.
