According to a survey carried out by the Center for Local Self-Government (CLS) between July 5 and 11 on the organization’s website, in which 2,358 citizens of Belgrade took part, the biggest problem in the public transport system in the capital of Serbia is the bad vehicle quality, with a 25.9% vote, followed by the lack of air-conditioning (22.6%), the insufficient number of lines and rides (20.3%) and the vehicles being late/the schedule being violated (16.2%).

– The fact that the citizens of Belgrade have responded to the survey in such great numbers confirms the findings of our previous survey that public transport is one of the two biggest sources of dissatisfaction in the capital of Serbia – stated the director of CLS, Nikola Jovanovic, and added:

– It’s no wonder that the list is topped by dissatisfaction over the quality of the vehicles, because, for almost two years now, we have been pointing to not just the bad maintenance of the rolling stock, but also to inadequate procedures of the procurement of new buses, the kinds of which are not used almost anywhere in Europe.
