Liter of brandy costs €1,000 - Slavko Djurdjevic declared Happy Winner of the fourth Rakija Fest
Over the last weekend, Continental hotel in Belgrade was the host of the fourth Rakija Fest (Brandy Fest) organized by Rakia Bar and the Association of Manufacturers of Natural Fruit Brandies. This manifestation was held under the slogan "Rakija is a Serbian Brand".
One of the brandies presented this year was Partizanova Rakija (Partizan's Brandy). The brandy worth 1,000 euros drew a special attention of the public. This top-quality plum brandy - Zar, in an artistically shaped packaging, comes from the village of Blaznava in Sumadija and it is 26 years old.
Hadzi Dragan Sevic, the manufacturer of that brandy, says that when you put that brandy in your mouth, it does not burn you, but slips down your throat, as an oil, and starts spreading a warmth when in your stomach. That is how it got its name. Every packaging of this brandy is unique.
A total of 54 medals were presented - three large gold, 11 gold, 27 silver and 13 bronze medals. Brandy manufacturer Perun makes the best pear and quince brandies, while the best plum brandy is made by Miniceva Kuca Rakije (the Minic House of Brandy).
The award Veseli Pobednik (Happy Winner) was won by Slavko Djurdjevic for the most interesting booth, his kindness and the smell and taste of his brandy.
