French Ambassador Denio said that the city of Nis had a significant commercial and human potential that that was the reason why Sagem was going to develop its business in Nis as well.
The Government of Serbia and the city of Nis signed a protocol of cooperation with Sagem on March 27, 2009, which was supposed to enable opening of units for production of electric meters of the French company within Nis-based Electronic Industry (EI).
That protocol has not been implemented yet, and the main obstacle is a tender for the replacement of electric meters, which has not been announced in Serbia yet.
