The ambassador of Russia to Serbia, Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko, has stated that there is a possibility of delivering additional quantities of Russian gas to Serbia during the winter, if there is need for gas in Serbia.

– The basic quantities of gas are determined by the existing agreement, but there is the possibility of additional quantities of gas in the winter in there is need for it in Serbia. Everything will be solved the same way it is in the existing agreement – Botsan-Kharchenko said for Belgrade media.

Talking about gas supply, he said that Serbia had gotten the best possible price under the existing circumstances.

– The basic issues are solved within the agreement, the price is the best possible one under the current conditions. It is suitable for Russia too and it enables the development of Serbia and a normal life – he said.

When it comes to gas transit, he said that there were concerns about the transit through Bulgaria, due to the very bad relations of Moscow and Sofia.

– As for the transit, it is being carried out without a problem at the moment. The transit goes through EU states, but we hope that in the future as well everything will happen in an acceptable and decent way – he added.
