Top-technology digital X-ray machine Visaris C, made by Belgrade-based manufacturer Visaris, was put in operation today in special hospital for treatment of cerebrovascular diseases Sveti Sava in Belgrade.

The machine was officially put in operation by Minister of Health Tomica Milosavljevic, in the presence of Milan Savic, the Director of Sveti Sava special hospital.

On that occasion, Minister of Health Tomica Milosavljevic said that that machine was one of three digital X-ray machines made by Visaris that had been installed in Serbia.

- After the Rheumatology Institute and Niska Banja spa, Sveti Sava hospital has also got the conditions for modern X-ray diagnostics. In addition to a multi-slice scanner and a digital X-ray machine, Sveti Sava hospital should also obtain an Angio room. In that way, this hospital will be able to carry out complete therapy procedures that are being carried out in the Clinical Center of Serbia - said Milosavljevic.

Dr Milan Savic, the Director of Sveti Sava hospital, pointed to the significance of the new X-ray machine in the diagnostics of some of the most frequent diseases, primarily among women, such as diseases of blood vessels and stroke.

Visaris is the only manufacturer of modern digital X-ray machines in Southeast Europe, medical and laboratory information systems, as well as systems for digital acquisition of image.

Milan Ratkovic, the Quality Manager at Visaris, stated for eKapija that the primary goal for the next year was a penetration of foreign markets.

- We have already started negotiating with several companies in the EU. Since we obtained all the necessary certificates in 2009, we have opened a branch office in Bulgaria where we plan to install several machines.

Ratkovic said that Visaris was also working on expanding the business to the markets of Russia and Turkey.

- Since the markets of these countries are not that open, it will take us about a year to put the first machine in operation. When it comes to the market of Serbia, our plans for the next year should be implemented in association with the Ministry of Health, as a financier, and the Health Care Secretariat of the City of Belgrade - said Ratkovic.

By the way, Visaris also builds a plant in Zemun. Completion of the construction is expected in spring 2011, while commencement of the production is scheduled for May or June.
