Acting director of PE Post of Serbia Zoran Djordjevic and State Secretary in the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Serbia, Mirsad Djerlek, have announced today the inclusion of private health institutions in the electronic prescription issuing system (eRecept) through the electronic support platform for the private sector developed by the PE Post of Serbia.

This will enable the integration of private health practice with the health information system of the Republic of Serbia and create technical conditions for doctors in private practice to issue electronic prescriptions instead of paper ones the same way as in state health institutions, the Post announced.

- PE Post of Serbia is a company with the most developed IT infrastructure in the country, and with the help of our experts, we have been intensively developing that potential for the benefit of all citizens in the last two years. Along with the digitization of postal services, we have also developed a number of solutions which have, through integration with state institutions, enabled modern e-services for citizens and the economy, e.g. the issuance of digital green certificates, the automatic generation of orders for the payment of administrative fees to the Ministry of Interior of Serbia, data archiving, eNotary services and the latest postal software solution. Through such solutions, we provide the same benefits to citizens who are treated in private practice, regarding issuing ePrescriptions, as the patients treated in state health institutions. The next step will be enabling patients to receive medicines at their home address - said Djordjevic.

The process of establishing an electronic platform to support the private health sector will commence after the appropriate consents have been given by the competent authorities.
